We would be remiss in not first paying homage on this day to our military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country they loved. Our hearts and thoughts are today, and always, with those who have taken an oath to defend this country in which we love so dearly, thank you.
It was about eight months after our first sale did the tragic events unfold on 9/11. It was a frightening day for all of us back then. Fright, anger and confusion were emotions evoked by the devastating scenes and reports broadcasted on this, and subsequent days. It must have been surreal for survivors or those who witnessed these events. Undoubtedly there are those who today continue to struggle with this tragedy. We will never forget that day.
What is next for us, and our country?
Days turned to weeks, weeks to months and months to years. We mourned those who were lost. We honored those who placed themselves in harm’s way to make right the devastation that occurred in such a short time.
In some way, history has repeated itself. We find ourselves fighting another battle. This time a pandemic. And again, we mourn those who have lost their lives in this battle, and honor and celebrate those who have, and continue to place themselves in harm’s way for the greater good.
Just as we did in 2001, we will get past this terrible time in our lives. With persistence, faith and science, we will emerge from this pandemic victorious. Collectively as intelligent beings, and partisanship begone, victory is ours for the taking. It’s with great anticipation that we meet again in what surely will be glorious days ahead for us.
