Lead Tackle Restrictions by State & Our Shipping Policy

At Panfishpro, we are committed to providing high quality tackle while respecting the conservation laws that protect our lakes, waterways, and local wildlife.

In recent years, several states have enacted strict legislation restricting the sale and use of small lead fishing tackle. These laws are designed to protect diving waterbirds such as the Common Loon and Trumpeter Swan from fatal lead poisoning, which can occur when birds inadvertently ingest small sinkers and jigs.

Because much of our tackle falls under the specific weight and size categories targeted by these environmental regulations, we have updated our shipping policies to remain in full compliance.

Restricted Shipping States

To navigate the complex and varying state-level laws regarding the sale and use of lead tackle, Panfishpro restricts the shipment of all lead products to the following Northeastern states:

  • Maine
  • Massachusetts
  • New Hampshire
  • New York
  • Vermont

What This Means for Your Order

If your shipping address is located in one of the five restricted states listed above, we cannot process or ship orders containing lead jig heads.

Our checkout system is designed to flag these restrictions automatically. If you attempt to purchase restricted lead tackle with a shipping address in ME, MA, NH, NY, or VT, you will be blocked from completing the checkout process for those specific items. Unrestricted items, such as soft plastics and accessories, will ship normally.

We know these restrictions can be frustrating for our loyal customers in the Northeast who rely on our tackle. We are actively exploring high performance, non-toxic casting alternatives so we can eventually bring our classic jig profiles back to anglers in these states without compromising the environment.
